We are living in a time in which the climate is undergoing drastic changes. deDoelen Ensemble will use a unique collection of Brazilian flutes to bring special endangered birds to life - in contrast to the harsh reality.

Like Olivier Messiaen, the Brazilian Pio Coelho recorded the sounds of birds. By 1920, the work was complete, including a special collection of flutes capable of imitating birds: the Birdbox. This bird song contrasts sharply with the deconstruction of Thierry de Mey's violin concerto. Plainscapes symbolises what threatens to remain if we are not careful: vast, barren plains, in the rarefied sounds of Pēteris Vasks.
