Circusstad: I Was Told

Funny, confrontational, engaging and full of interaction with the audience. That characterizes "I Was Told," a performance by Kathrin Wagner in which she combines juggling rings with spoken word. With her self-written texts, she plays with and manipulates how the audience and herself see her as both a woman and an artist on stage. With a touch of feminism and a good dose of honesty, Kathrin encourages the audience to think about those roles.

Kathrin Wagner is self-taught and discovered her passion for contemporary circus through the juggling community. Her original performance is based on personal experiences and stories of female colleagues. 'I Was Told.' came about with support from Zirkus On, the German equivalent of Circunstruction. A disarming performance whose message will linger long after.
