The perfect New Year’s concert is a mix of familiar waltzes and polkas, with a few festive surprises thrown in. Court composer Johann Strauss provides both types of ingredients with the famous Fledermaus Overture and the Blue Danube Waltz, as well as a few lesser-known (but equally beautiful) waltzes. Two of his more modern colleagues provide a cheerful stir, because, of course, it is now 2027.
