VOICES Rotterdam

Listen, sing and talk along

From the voice of an international artist to a story from your own city. At VOICES Rotterdam, you’ll discover what voices can set in motion. On 26 to 28 February and 5 to 7 March 2027, we bring together concerts, choirs, journalistic conversations and singalongs around one question: what connects us?

Spread across eight Rotterdam locations, you can discover more than 80 activities featuring 400 artists and speakers. Come and listen, sing along, develop your voice or join a conversation. A large part of the programme is free to attend.

Rotterdam, we need to talk

Which stories aren’t heard enough? What chafes in the city, and where do Rotterdammers find each other? Under the title “Rotterdam, we need to talk”, journalists, makers and residents discuss these questions. Expect interviews, conversations and encounters where different perspectives come together and where you can join the discussion too.

Discover the programme below and choose where you want to be. Some of the concerts are already on sale.

Make your voice heard

We’re creating VOICES together with Rotterdam venues, educational institutions, choirs and makers. The partners involved include V11, Donner, Flow, Kunstbende, Popunie, Codarts, Zadkine, Space Choir, Rotjekoor and Vocalink. Through an open call, we invite Rotterdammers to submit their own programmes, performances and ideas.

Remarkable voices, singing together

Listen to Jakub Józef Orliński and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, discover the soul of Nao Yoshioka and the chansons of Tess Merlot. VOICES brings together different genres, traditions and generations.

Your voice gets room too. Sixty choirs, including Space Choir, bring people together around music and singing. Sing along at XL Karaoke and the Fake Fur Sing Along, or explore what your voice can do in workshops and masterclasses. Shirma Rouse is ambassador of a masterclass programme for singers who want to develop further.
