Huub van der Lubbe & Amsterdam Sinfonietta

For its annual and highly successful New Year’s concerts, Amsterdam Sinfonietta joins forces with an artist from outside the classical music world. Previous collaborations have included Rufus Wainwright, Karsu and Maria Mena. This time, the orchestra welcomes Huub van der Lubbe. Following the memorable 2014 tour with De Dijk, Huub van der Lubbe returns to the orchestra as a solo artist. His performance of Jacques Brel’s Amsterdam with Amsterdam Sinfonietta at the Prinsengrachtconcert 2025 was a brief prelude to this collaboration. Van der Lubbe was the frontman of the iconic band De Dijk for more than forty years and has also appeared in various films and musicals. He now performs solo or with small ensembles in theatres. Together with the orchestra, he will perform his own songs alongside hits by De Dijk, interwoven, of course, with classical repertoire.
