Mozart en Dvořák

Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest

Melodies flowed from Dvořák’s pen with an ease that was otherwise only seen in Mozart.

Melodies flowed from Dvořák’s pen with an ease one otherwise saw only in Mozart, the composer he admired above all others. Having conquered the world with his delightful Slavonic dances, his Seventh proved that he could also measure up to the very greatest in the symphonic realm. ‘A sort of Brahms, but more spontaneous,’ was the verdict of the British press after the premiere. That certainly brings him close to Mozart.
