Organist Adriaan Hoek performs Simeon ten Holt’s Canto Ostinato on the Doelen organ. This influential work in Dutch music history is built-up from repetative motifs that gradually evolve, revealing ever-new tensions and colours. In the rich acoustic space of the organ, an intense listening experience unfolds in which time seems to slow down and the music develops as a continuously breathing movement.
