The Münchener Kammerorchester comes to De Doelen with violinist Leila Josefowicz and conductor Bas Wiegers in a programme where new music and the classical repertoire reinforce one another. At its centre is a new work by Trevor Grahl, commissioned by Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ and the Münchener Kammerorchester, exploring the possibilities of the string orchestra anew. Bartók’s Second Violin Concerto is performed in a transparent version for chamber orchestra, followed by Haydn’s Symphony No. 102, where clarity, energy and a strong sense of form come together.
