Two of the greatest Russian composers and two of the greatest orchestral suites in one program full of folklore, colors and power. Connected by the dance forms Rimsky-Kórsakov’s Capriccio Espagnol includes all kinds of wonderful solos, cadenzas an orchestral tutti inspired in Spanish folklore dance forms and chants as one of the greatest orchestral pieces of the Nationalisms in Classical Music. On the other hand, Rachmaninoff wrote his Symphonic Dances while living in United States, far from his homeland but yet inspired by other Russian composers’ language such as Stravinsky and Prokofiev. A program, led by guest conductor Isabel Rubio, which brilliant orchestrations inspires any musician and music lover and which contrasting characters yet highlights that music has no boundaries.
