Sinfonia Rotterdam with Murat Cem Orhan

“Een ontroerende reis door klank en cultuur”

Join us on a global journey and experience the magical fusion of Asia and Europe in the music of two vibrant Turkish composers. In his chamber symphony, Fazıl Say focuses on the pure Turkish signature with his distinctive lyricism and rhythm, while his Silk Road piano concerto takes us from Tibet through India and Mesopotamia to Anatolia. Mehmet Ali Sanlıkol is not only the composer of the program’s finale but also performs as a vocal soloist and plays unique traditional instruments such as the oud and ney. The orchestra is conducted by guest conductor Murat Cem Orhan.
