With his new album A Flor do Recomeço, Salvador Sobral delves into the music of Brazil.

Portuguese singer and Eurovision winner Salvador Sobral presents A Flor do Recomeço, his first album entirely dedicated to Brazilian composers. Recorded in São Paulo and produced by Marcus Preto and Tó Brandileone, the album is set for release in the second half of the year.

For this project, Sobral collaborated with an impressive group of songwriters, including Adriana Calcanhotto, Arnaldo Antunes, Chico César, Céu, Marcelo Camelo, Mallu Magalhães, Marcos Valle and Tim Bernardes. The album’s title is drawn from a poem by Eveline Sin, set to music by Chico César.

With A Flor do Recomeço, Sobral returns to his musical roots. His connection to Brazilian music began early in life and forms the foundation of this project. Rather than approaching it from a distance, he chose to work closely with Brazilian musicians, resulting in a cohesive and authentic sound.

The album was recorded with a core group of musicians — Tiago Costa (piano), Fábio Sá (double bass), Conrado Goys (guitar), Sergio Machado (drums) and Felipe Roseno (percussion). Together, they bring a collection of new compositions to life, where each voice retains its individuality while contributing to a unified whole.

The result is a carefully crafted album in which tradition, collaboration and personal interpretation come together.
