NYX Choir

This programme is part of VOICES Rotterdam: a new city festival in Rotterdam organised by de Doelen for music, journalism and encounters.

Choral voices and electronics in an immersive sonic world

NYX reveals the limitless possibilities of the human voice. This London-based collective of experimental vocalists and electronic artists brings choral singing together with electronics. Led by music director Sian O’Gorman, they create a sonic world where ancient vocal traditions meet futuristic sound design.

Voices without borders

The members draw on disciplines ranging from opera and choral music to sound design and visual art. Voices are layered and transformed through effects and electronic instruments. Composition and improvisation work together in music that moves between ritual intensity, playful exploration and profound emotion.

NYX has performed at Rewire, the Centre Pompidou, the Roundhouse and Dark Mofo, among others. At VOICES ROTTERDAM, the collective invites you to immerse yourself in the power of voices and sound.
