Vrienden repetitiebezoek | PRJCT Amsterdam

Week van de Vriend

During Friends Week, we open the doors of the Main Hall for a special rehearsal visit. Get a unique behind the scenes glimpse of PRJCT Amsterdam and see how musicians and singers prepare one final time for the performance later that evening. Discover details in ensemble playing, interpretation, and balance that are normally hidden from the audience.

Following the Osteroratorium, PRJCT Amsterdam turns to Handel’s impressive Brockes Passion. In this dramatic score, Handel sets the poetic reworking of the Passion story by Barthold Heinrich Brockes, featuring some of his most moving arias and duets. The compact and expressive choral parts add depth and intensity to the work. It is no coincidence that Bach performed this Passion multiple times in Leipzig and drew inspiration from it when composing his own St John Passion.

This rehearsal visit offers an intimate and inspiring preview of a rarely performed masterpiece. Friends can attend free of charge as part of Friends Week.

Friends Week is the annual moment of appreciation for our Friends. In addition to this activity, they receive benefits such as priority access to ticket sales and invitations to exclusive events. Thanks to their support, de Doelen can continue to invest in programming, talent development, and education.
