During the fourth edition of the Eindeloos India Festival, cultural platform DesiYUP transforms de Doelen into a vibrant meeting place where the boundless richness of the Indian performing arts merges with the raw energy of Rotterdam's urban culture. Eindeloos India Festival demonstrates that culture is constantly in motion—colorful, innovative, and without boundaries. Debasmita Bhattacharya (17:00 - 18:30)
She possesses unparalleled artistry and has dedicated her life to the Indian string instrument, the sarod. With this, she leaves her mark on the world of Indian classical music. Her music transcends boundaries and effortlessly connects tradition and innovation. With her spirited performances, she conquers stages worldwide, from India to Europe and the Middle East to the United States. She manages to touch and inspire music lovers time and again with her music. She will be accompanied by tabla player Gurdain Singh Rayat.

After a one-hour break, the second concert begins.

Maithili Thakur (19:30 - 21:00)
For the first time in the Netherlands: Maithili Thakur is one of India's most influential Gen Z singing icons and is internationally recognized for her exceptional contribution to Indian folk (Uttar Pradesh/Bihar region), devotional, and classical music. With a powerful digital presence and a rapidly growing global audience, she has grown into one of the most important contemporary cultural voices, preserving the rich Indian musical culture and popularizing it among younger generations. She has already shared the stage with legendary greats such as Shankar Mahadevan. Through her music, Maithili connects listeners all over the world. She performs with her 7-piece band from India.

Jurriaanse Foyer (14:30 - 21:30)
Doors open at 14:30, and for seven hours, immerse yourself in a diverse festival program featuring dance, films, inspiration sessions, and workshops spread throughout the Jurriaanse Hall, the Foyer, and the Van Capellen Hall.

The afternoon of Eindeloos India x de Doelen begins the moment you step into the Jurriaanse Foyer, which transforms for one day into a vibrant world filled with the scents, colors, and flavors of South Asia. Immerse yourself in a sensory experience with a diverse program: an inspiring art exhibition, refined henna art, a soothing meditation clinic, sparkling Kathak dance, a creative candle-making workshop, and traditional painting that brings stories to life. Additionally, you will find a carefully curated selection of sustainable products to discover and purchase at the festival, including Ayurveda products, books, and other cultural and artisanal items that reflect the richness of India.

Practical information

During the Eindeloos India festival, only vegetarian sweet and savory treats are for sale at Baramaribo and Anjappar. Eindeloos India promises a total experience. An admission ticket—with a seat number for the Jurriaanse Hall—provides access to all program components. It is possible to exit De Doelen once an admission ticket has been scanned. The visitor receives a stamp or a festival wristband. The concerts in the Jurriaanse Hall begin precisely on time. It is advisable to take your seat upon hearing the gong. Seat numbers are listed on your admission ticket, and De Doelen staff will also guide visitors to their seats.
