Proms: A Night at the Opera

In Italy, everything is opera. Drama is life and arias are its soundtrack, sounding from the most distinguished theaters to the working-class neighborhoods. Visit NEIGHBOURS before, during, or after your concert at de Doelen. This photo exhibition in the Grote Zaal Foyer welcomes de Doelen’s neighbours from the Oude Westen neighborhood.

Café Marseille, pet store De Rimboe, and ice cream shop De Ijssalon set the scene for a lively area where residents of all ages and styles come together. Photographer Robin Utrecht and creative producer Mieke van der Linden shine a spotlight on this diversity with a series of portraits. Utrecht, known for his work during Lunchbreak concerts and royal state visits, shows in this series that ordinary people are anything but ordinary.
