Museum Rotterdam is building the future in studio 5 de Doelen werkplaats

The collaboration with Museum Rotterdam aligns seamlessly with de Doelen's commitment to opening its spaces to Rotterdam. Studio 5, formerly de Doelen Kids Corner, has been further developed and has served as a workshop for the city since October. It's a place for learning and creating; for workshops, courses, and special initiatives for all ages.

Museum director Léontine Meijer-van Mensch: “At de Doelen, we want to show how the new museum is developing step by step. We're testing ideas, themes, and stories there that will later form the basis for the program at the new city museum. It's a place where encounters and conversations are central, exactly as we envision the new Museum Rotterdam to be.”

De Doelen Director Edo Righini: "We believe in a city that learns, builds, and imagines together. By welcoming Museum Rotterdam to our museum, we create a new public space where the city can explore and reinvent itself."

Until the opening of the new city museum building, you can visit de Doelen every Thursday and Friday to participate in discussions about the new city museum. Museum Rotterdam at Coolhaven is also open with a regular ticket. During this period, de Doelen Werkplaats will serve as a vibrant hub where the museum showcases what happens behind the scenes. Visitors can drop in, participate in creative workshops, or simply chat with Museum Rotterdam staff. Together, they are building the museum of tomorrow, right in the heart of Rotterdam.
