De Doelen celebrates new partnership in its renovated studios
This summer, de Doelen celebrates the start of a new partnership that contributes to the further development of its iconic concert and conference venue as an open, vibrant and multifaceted house of music for Rotterdam and beyond.
Over the past months, Studio 1 and Studio 3 have undergone a transformation, placing music, connection and hospitality at their core. The former Studio 1 has been enhanced with acoustic and architectural improvements and will relaunch as Studio Blendd @ de Doelen, featuring a renewed programme with a distinct musical identity. Live jazz, talent development, vinyl nights and intimate concert experiences will all find a permanent home here.
At the same time, Bistro Blendd @ de Doelen, located in Studio 3, will become the culinary heart of de Doelen: an accessible and welcoming space where visitors, artists, creators, partners and Rotterdam residents can come together around food, drinks and music. The bistro is a destination in its own right, inviting the city in throughout the day for lunch, dinner, a good glass of wine or an evening out.
Bistro Blendd @ de Doelen will also serve a social and educational purpose. It will provide students and trainees from Rotterdam educational institutions with practical experience in hospitality, events and audience services. In this way, the operation of the venue is directly connected to talent development within the city.
Both studios are being developed in partnership with Vineyard, a well established name in the hospitality industry. Through its expertise in hospitality, food and beverage services, and audience experience, Vineyard helps create an environment where music can thrive and visitors feel genuinely welcome.
The renovated studios will open on 17 June with an adapted summer programme. A festive grand opening will follow on 1 September, when Studio Blendd @ de Doelen and Bistro Blendd @ de Doelen officially launch in full swing.
"Through this partnership, we are adding a broader musical perspective to our house of music," says Managing Director Edo Righini. "Studio Blendd @ de Doelen and Bistro Blendd @ de Doelen each strengthen, in their own way, the connection between music, talent, encounter and the city. Together, they help us continue building a de Doelen that is deeply rooted in Rotterdam while remaining open to the world."
With its renewed studios, de Doelen takes the next step in developing the venue as a place where concerts, talent development, hospitality, experimentation and meaningful encounters reinforce one another.
