Season opening with Packed Houses

The new season at de Doelen has kicked off with a series of sold-out concerts. From pop icon Billy Corgan and the music of Undertale to organist Anna Lapwood: diverse programs are bringing generations of music lovers to the concert hall.

This strong interest gives confidence in the chosen path. De Doelen aims to be a home where residents of Rotterdam feel welcome, can find their musical preferences, and discover something new. With a broader program, space for talent, and collaboration with partners in the city, that ambition is taking further shape this season.

On Thursday evening, the classical season also officially got underway. Together with the Philharmonia Orchestra and the Laurens Symphonic Women's Choir, under the direction of Kerem Hasan, Anna Lapwood presented a program featuring works by Max Richter and Saint-Saëns, among others. Additionally, the launch of Flow unplugged underscored the venue's focus on talent development.

“Our promise to Rotterdam is that we will continue building a home where the city meets both itself and the world. Where established artists and new talent find a stage, and where more people from Rotterdam feel addressed. That requires quality, curiosity, and a lasting connection with the city," said general director Edo Righini.

This season, beloved repertoire and new musical experiences go hand in hand. De Doelen invites regular visitors and curious newcomers to be a part of it.
