Direct, diverse and with a raw edge: Niels Diamond’s DJ sets reflect his hometown of Rotterdam. His musical taste took shape while working in record stores and through the nightlife of Rotterdam and Berlin. For years, he has been digging through record shops in search of danceable records and hidden gems. During this Vinyl Session, he shares a selection from his extensive vinyl collection.
Expect italo, space disco and the occasional touch of new beat, electro or funk. Niels likes to surprise his audience with obscure B-sides and unexpected finds, while always keeping the dance floor in mind.
In recent years, Niels Diamond has played both solo and as part of Dagobah Soundsystem at venues across Rotterdam, including WORM, Keilecafé, Ferry, Time is the New Space and Rotown. He can also be heard on radio stations including Operator, Intergalactic FM and Mutant Radio Tbilisi in Berlin.
