With this concert, we are launching “Infinite Hiss,” a new ongoing concert series at De Doelen in which groundbreaking artists bring together improvisation, noise, and acoustic sounds to create an intense live experience. Through this series, De Doelen offers a new stage to artists who defy genre boundaries and create the most surprising music precisely by stepping outside them.
Michael Foster, Leila Bordreuil, and Chris Corsano push their instruments to their outer limits in this intense trio; blending raucous noise with a heightened acoustic sensitivity. Bordreuil and Foster began playing as a duo at age 18, developing a near-telepathic musical language through their early improvisations. They met Chris Corsano soon after, and immediately found a shared
aesthetic that they've developed ever since.
The duo remained Bordreuil and Foster's primary artistic output for nearly a decade, leading to their first release, The Caustic Ballads, on Relative Pitch Records. Active as a trio and in various ensembles since 2012, Corsano, Bordreuil, and Foster have become luminaries of the U.S. noise and improvised music scene; known for their acute listening and visceral playing.
This trio represents two decades of collaboration, tracing back to the genesis of these players' musical languages, and marks their first performances together outside the United States.
