Swinging Holidays

Go swinging into the holidays with the most beautiful jazz classics with a wink to Christmas! Led by none other than Grammy-winning composer and double bassist John Clayton, the renowned Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw performs a heartwarming concert with two American rising stars. Saxophonist & vocalist Camille Thurman has already toured with the world-renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. Downbeat Magazine aptly described her sound: ‘Imagine if Sarah Vaughan played saxophone like Dexter Gordon.’ Vocalist Tyreek McDole won the 2023 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition as the second male winner ever. He is no stranger to the scene and has already shared the stage with Theo Croker, Rodney Whitaker & Gary Bartz. Expect “Christmas Jazz at its finest” by artists who know their business!

The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw consists of world-class Dutch jazz musicians and ranks among the top bands in Europe. The big band has won several Edison Awards and collaborates with contemporary (jazz) musicians from all over the world. Traditionally, the big band gives a series of festive end-of-year concerts. During previous editions, the big band invited the likes of Jose James, Oleta Adams, James Carter and Jazzmeia Horn to usher in the holidays with them.
