Films, Talks and in depth context

During IFFR, films are of course indispensable. Throughout the festival, the Jurriaanse Hall and the Willem Burger Hall screen films from around the world. For a complete overview, we recommend exploring the IFFR programme from A to Z.

Panel Talks also take place in the Willem Burger Hall and the Van Cappellen Hall. The IFFR Talks programme offers space for reflection and dialogue on film within a broader cultural and social context. In de Doelen and at other festival locations, Big Talks and Tiger Talks are organised with leading filmmakers and cultural voices. Topics range from feminism and colonialism to queer culture and cinematic practice. International directors and cinematographers share their perspectives and experiences with the audience.

As the festival heart of IFFR, De Doelen remains an open and accessible meeting place throughout the festival. Visitors are invited to explore the IFFR programme and are welcome to walk into De Doelen at any time during the festival. Last but not least, get in the mood for IFFR by listening to the Filmpodcast Rotterdam. A collaboration betwen IFFR, Open Rotterdam and de Doelen.
