Music and philosophy clash and converge in Louis Andriessen’s monumental De Materie. Asko|Schönberg, the leading ensemble for boundary-pushing music, brings this iconic work to life with gripping intensity.
In De Materie, blocks of sound collide, rhythms drive forward, and abstract ideas take on physical form. A radical and visionary piece where minimalism, baroque, and jazz come together in a musical exploration of the relationship between mind and matter.
