During Composer's Day, the Rotterdam composer takes center stage! Every year, young Rotterdam composers write new works in collaboration with Codarts. In December of the previous year, the competition takes place and the pieces are selected to be performed together on this day in the foyer of the Main Hall of De Doelen. Fresh notes in a prime location, because the foyer sounds overwhelming!

Rolf is a permanent guest conductor with Camerata RCO (members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra) and artistic director of Chamber Orchestra Somer, consisting of the ‘young professionals’ of symphonic music.

To date, Camerata RCO has released two CDs: Anton Bruckner's 6th Symphony in his own arrangement, and the CD *Sehnsucht* featuring soloist Barbara Hannigan in songs by Alban Berg and Gustav Mahler's 4th Symphony. For several years, Hannigan served as a mentor within the Equilibrium Young Artists program, during which Rolf served as assistant conductor for many international orchestras, such as the London Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Philharmonic, and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France.

In 2022, he was awarded the prestigious Kersjes Prize for his clear and communicative style, which fosters effective and harmonious interaction with orchestra members. Since then, he has regularly conducted orchestras such as the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Filarmonica Banatul Timisoara, the Transylvania State Orchestra, the Brussels Philharmonic, the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, the Ulster Orchestra, Phion, the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, and family performances with musicians from the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
