The feeling of spring – sparkling fresh and full of energy – has never been better captured in music than by Vivaldi. La primavera, the first of his Four Seasons, is therefore the opening of this spring prom. Pachelbel, Handel and Bach throw themselves into the party with their own baroque top hits, but Vivaldi has the last word: his sun-drenched L'estate finally gives a foretaste of a radiant summer.
