Singer, movement artist, and composer Elaine Mitchener joins Ensemble Klang for a colourful yet activist parade of works for voice and ensemble. Jennifer Walshe, Hannah Kendall and minimal icon Julius Eastman will be featured. Together, they tell a larger story of social commentary, humour, intrigue, empathy, and hope.

Jonkonnu is a colourful street performance in the Caribbean. Dancers and musicians dress in brightly coloured costumes depicting all kinds of characters. From mythical figures to those who represent the impact of colonisation and great rulers in our society. Jamaican composer Mikhail Johnson interprets the stories behind those characters in Tell! Jonkonnu, Tell! That was the inspiration for Klang and Mitchener, who make this whole programme a festive parade in which each piece brings its own story.
