At de Doelen, we believe it is important that everyone feels welcome and comfortable. That is why we do everything we can to make our concert hall in Rotterdam as accessible as possible for visitors with a disability. Whether you use a wheelchair, need visual or auditory support, or have specific questions, we ensure that your visit runs smoothly and pleasantly. Discover everything about our facilities.
accessibility
wheelchair and walker
All halls in de Doelen, except the Van Cappellen Hall, are accessible for wheelchairs and walkers. Each hall has plenty of spaces for wheelchairs. If you use a walker, you can bring it with you to the hall. During the concert, a staff member will store the walker in the hallway.
You can reserve wheelchair spaces through tickets & service from Wednesday to Friday from 2 to 6 PM at 0102171717, or send an email to tickets@dedoelen.nl.
If you have difficulty walking and would like to use a wheelchair from de Doelen to access the hall, please send an email to tickets@dedoelen.nl and we will make sure one is available for you.

Grote Zaal there are 2 elevators in the Grote Zaal lobby, one on the left and one on the right in the back of the lobby.
Jurriaanse Zaal access via the elevator in the Grote Zaal lobby on the left side.
Eduard Flipse Zaal access via the elevator in the Grote Zaal lobby on the right side.
Willem Burger Zaal access via the elevator in the Willem Burger Zaal lobby to the right of the entrance.
The elevators are spacious enough for a wheelchair.
Left Grote Zaal lobby elevator approximately 98 cm wide and max 132 cm deep.
Right Grote Zaal lobby elevator approximately 104 cm wide and 131 cm deep.

In the concert halls, there are hosts present at the doors. Please do not hesitate to ask for help, for example, if you need to get up or if you are experiencing too much sensory stimulation during the concert. Our hosts are here to assist you.
toilet
There are toilets on every floor at de Doelen. You can access the toilets on the second floor using the elevator.
The accessible toilets (disabled or wheelchair-accessible restrooms) are located in various places:
- Downstairs in the Grote Zaal Hall, in the back left corner near the elevator.
- On the second floor in the Grote Zaal area, on the right-hand side.
- Downstairs in the Willem Burger Hall on the left.
- On the third floor in the Willem Burger area, next to the entrance to the hall.
- On the first floor, near the foyer of the Jurriaanse Zaal.
lactation room or quiet space
De Doelen provides a space for breastfeeding; you can reserve this room via tickets@dedoelen.nl Need a moment of quiet? Ask our staff about the quiet room.
seat dimensions
We want you to feel comfortable during your visit. That’s why we’ve listed the seat dimensions for each of our halls below. This way, you can choose the spot that suits you best in advance.

hearing assistance
At de Doelen, you can use Auracast, a wireless technology that streams the sound of the performance directly to a receiver, headphones or compatible hearing aid.
Auracast is only available for the Grote Zaal. In future it can be used in all our Halls, but untill then please use the hearing loop.
hearing loop Willem Burger Zaal
Some hearing devices may not connect properly to the hearing loop. Our technician can help you with this. Please make an appointment at least one week in advance by emailing contact@dedoelen.nl
light and sound
At concerts where the sound is amplified, earplugs are available at the bar. This will be mentioned in the concert information email.

Strobe lights are rarely used at our concerts. If flashing lights are used, we will mention this in the concert information email.
assistance dogs
Assistance dogs are very welcome! If you are attending a concert with a certified assistance dog, please let us know in advance by emailing tickets@dedoelen.nl. We will make sure that you and your dog are properly accommodated and will guide you to your seat via a quiet route.
