The Netherlands Wind Ensemble yearns, whispers, cries and moves with Berlioz's Powerful Women. With this performance the Winds follow in the footsteps of the eccentric composer.

The revolutionary Symphonie Fantastique revolves around a strong but unattainable woman in a story full of obsession, madness, jealousy and murder. In La Mort de Cléopâtre, Cleopatra, a charismatic and fearless woman, chooses suicide over captivity, taking her fate into her own hands.

These masterfully instrumented compositions were broken into a thousand pieces by the creative German composer Kathrin Denner and then rebuilt into a spectacular wind instrument line-up especially for the NBE.
