Salvador Sobral

Salvador Sobral is een Portugese singer-songwriter die bekend staat om zijn prachtige pop- en jazzmuziek. Hij won het Eurovisie Songfestival in 2017 met zijn nummer "Amar Pelos Dois", geschreven door zijn zus en wat hem internationale bekendheid opleverde. 

Salvador heeft een unieke stem en een unieke stijl die mensen over de hele wereld hebben betoverd. Hij heeft verschillende prijzen gewonnen en wordt beschouwd als een van de beste Portugese artiesten van zijn generatie. 

Zijn stem wordt omschreven als warm, zacht en vol emotie. De muziek is een perfecte mix van jazz en pop en bevat vaak elementen van bossa nova en andere invloeden uit de Braziliaanse muziek. Zijn muziek is zowel poëtisch als doordacht, toegankelijk als uitdagend en zijn live optredens zijn een ervaring die je niet snel zult vergeten! 

Op 8 november komt hij naar de Doelen om zijn nieuwste album Timbre te presenteren! 

"The name TIMBRE arose for two main reasons. The first, perhaps the most obvious, is because first and foremost in this life I am a singer, a performer, and what defines and distinguishes me the most ismy voice, my timbre. The second reason is that I am interested in the concept of timbre as color, the color of the voice, the color of the instruments. The record will be like a colorful palette of timbres that trigger clarity. Ah! And there is a third reason for the name of the album, the word timbre is used in many Latin and Germanic languages. It is spelled the same and means the same. It seems that the concept of TIMBRE is universal, and we all agree on that" - Salvador Sobral
