Bertolf goes Bluegrass

Bertolf's love for music began with bluegrass. The singer-songwriter and guitarist traveled to Nashville to fulfill an old dream: recording an album with his idols, such as Jerry Douglas, Stuart Duncan, and Mark Schatz. 'Bluefinger' became the title of the new album. In the eponymous theater program, Bertolf and his band perform this new work and the best songs from previous records, in fully acoustic bluegrass versions. The performance is complemented by beautiful bluegrass stories and a number of gems from this illustrious repertoire.

Bluegrass is a genre of American roots music that originated in the Appalachian region of the United States in the 1940s. It takes its name from the Bluegrass state of Kentucky, but its influences come from the musical traditions of several southern states, including Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina. Characterized by its fast, virtuosic musicianship and tight vocal harmonies, bluegrass is played on acoustic stringed instruments, including the banjo, guitar, mandolin, fiddle, and upright bass. Some famous bluegrass musicians include Bill Monroe, Earl Scruggs, and Alison Krauss.

No other Dutch singer- songwriter sounds like him: So refined, passionate, effortless, 'retro' and contemporary at the same time, and beautifully sung besides.
