Had Wagner lived a century later, he would have found his Valhalla in Hollywood, just like Herrmann and Korngold.

Wagner was the grand master of the superlative. He forged together epic stories, storming music, and overwhelming staging’s into a total experience in which your eyes and ears fell short. Had he lived a century later, he would have found his Valhalla in Hollywood, as a colleague of Herrmann and Korngold. This concert rings them together, with outsider Kodály as a surprising fourth.
