Two grand piano trios by the Van Baerle Trio and one of Liszt's few chamber music pieces. Schubert wrote his piano trios in the very last years of his life, a period in which he wrote great romantic works. Brahms spent most of his life writing great romantic works.

The beauty of Brahms and Schubert is that their works are always in balance, after a deep valley there is almost always an optimistic peak. But it is Liszt's Tristia that sets the tone, as the name suggests, without that optimistic peak.
