What is more Rotterdam than De Hef? Using the iconic bridge as metaphor and inspiration, the DoelenEnsemble bridges the gap between several Rotterdam composers, paying attention to our city’s rich musical past. A concert featuring three Rotterdam composers, bridging generations, and ending with Joris Ivens’ black and white film about the famous bridge, one of the city’s iconic monuments.

Ketting Collage 9 is seldomly performed, due to the extraordinary combination of instruments called for in the score: French horns, trumpets, trombones, baritone, bass tuba, and percussion.
