Tania Kross brings opera and classical music with a modern twist

In the mid-1990s, a brave, very young Curaçao girl named Tania Kross came to the Netherlands to study singing at the conservatory in Utrecht. She moved into the lecture hall next to Ernst Munneke, who was studying the piano, and the two immediately fell in love. Their friendship grew into an internationally acclaimed musical collaboration that has now spanned 25 years. They performed all over the world. From the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam to Carnegie Hall in New York.

On Curaçao, Tania sang in her brother's band. She also got to know the talented Randal Corsen at an early age. Randal also left for the Netherlands in the 1990s to study piano. Back on Curaçao, he grows into the musical brain of the island. He combines his knowledge of jazz and classical music with his love for Caribbean music and traditional instruments. He composed the opera Katibu di Shon for Tania Kross. Since Tania lives on Curaçao again, they have resumed their collaboration.

To celebrate her first quarter century as a singer, Tania Kross will perform a series of exclusive anniversary recitals with her two musical friends. Tania with wings! An intimate concert with attention to the musical highlights in her career and to her island of Curaçao.
