When the Spanish musician and producer Raül Refree heard Lina sing at the famous Clube de Fado in Lisbon, he was completely blown away by her powerful, fantastic voice. His reaction was instinctive.
A day later, the pair were in a special recording studio, surrounded by vintage synthesizers such as Moogs, Arps, Oberheims and Rolands, plus a piano. Raül Refree caught Lina's voice in an analogous cloud and this turned out to be the beginning of a wonderful collaboration, in which it was decided to arrange the repertoire of the greatest fado singer of all time, Amália Rodrigues, in a completely new way. And how!
Lina_Raül Refree does indeed play fado, but instead of accompaniment on acoustic and/or Portuguese guitar, the full, loaded voice of singer Lina is accompanied in a very organic and extremely tasteful way by intense soundscapes and inventive piano playing by Raül Refree on keys and electronics.
Lina is a multi-talented. She studied and played theater and also sang opera, but fado is close to her heart. Her voice is moving and full of depth.
Raül Refree is a unique musician and one of the most innovative producers of recent times. In this way he has given flamenco a new perspective. He produced and played with artists such as Rocio Márquez and Niño de Elche, and released fantastic duo records with Rosália and Sílvia Pérez Cruz. In 2020 he also produced several other records, including that of Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth).
