Jeroen Spitzenberger is just as virtuoso in Memento Mori as the jazz musicians he shares the stage with. He breathes life into his self-written lyrics between the violence of brass and percussion. Lyrics about… death. Or rather our mortality, a lifelong fascination of the actor.
Dying is uncomfortable for many people. It is inevitable and final. Always sad, sometimes a relief. Surrounded by open doors and at the same time the greatest mystery. The orchestra and Jeroen set out on an evening in which mind and heart are touched. A funky memento mori, if you will. Because dying doesn't have to get in the way of your enjoyment of life.
