Dance, spoken word by former city poet Dean Bowen and the exciting music and lyrics by Rzewski that rumble on like a kind of machine. The text Rzewski used comes from a prisoner's notes: I think the combination of age and the greater coming together is responsible for the speed of the passing time. It's six months now and i can tell you truthfully few periods in my life have passed so quickly.

Coming Together is therefore a monumental work in which different arts and social history come together spectacularly, as in Steve Reich's Different Trains. The dancers and choreographers of IID, Robin Kroes and Remy van Tilburg, add an extra layer.

After the break, artist in residence of the DoelenEnsemble Amy Egbers will make a program with the same theme.
