Peter Adriaansz is a musical einzelgänger. Sound is his foremost preoccupation; vibration, sonics going straight trough the body. For an earlier composition he was awarded the Matthijs Vermeulenprijs, the most important composition award of the Netherlands. For Environments, he made use of, among other, fragments from the book Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and texts by philosopher and zen expert Alan Watts. The result is a personal investigation into the relation between the individual and society and our changing notion of time. For twelve years already, Andriaansz closely collaborates with Ensemble Klang, the interprator of his radical, but exquisite music.
