Storytelling is in the DNA of both rising star violinist Théotime Langlois de Swarte and Holland Baroque. Together they tell the tale of the 18th century Italian violin scene. Main characters: Vivaldi, Valentini, Geminiani, Tartini and Locatelli. Pietro Locatelli lived for the last 35 years of his life in Amsterdam. There, in 1741, he wrote an extraordinary concerto, nicknamed ‘Il pianto d’Arianna’. The composition is a mini-opera without lyrics, in which the solo violin – played by Théotime – stars as the desperate Ariadne.
with music by Vivaldi, Valentini, Geminiani, Tartini and Locatelli
