The French sound throughout the ages

It was thanks to his father’s record collection that baritone Thomas Oliemans started singing along to all the French musical greats. Now a renowned opera singer and guest at one of the world’s biggest opera houses, this program featuring Amsterdam Sinfonietta marks his return to one of his earliest loves: French chansons. Expect well-known and more obscure chansons by singers ranging from Jacquel Brel to Claude François and from Charles Trenet to Stromae, as well as classical works for strings by Ravel, Rameau, Debussy and Fauré, all of them showcasing the unmistakably French sound throughout the ages.
