Countertenors Andreas Scholl and Maarten Engeltjes don’t just share their high vocal range, but both got their start in music as choirboys, and like composers Henry Purcell and John Blow, are pupil and master, respectively.
Accompanied by PRJCT Amsterdam, Scholl and Engeltjes will be performing arias and duets by their seventeenth century colleagues. The music will be woven together with a contemporary translation of Shakespeare’s sonnets.
