House of Waters, an experimental and eclectic trio from Brooklyn, joins together musical traditions from across the globe in ways you have never heard before. Jazz and fusion rhythms are effortlessly woven together with African and South-American grooves. Throw in the serene calm of the hammered dulcimer, an instrument with strings stretched over a soundboard that the player strikes with a little hammer, and you’ve got yourself a truly unique sound.
Max ZT is considered a true pioneer of new dulcimer techniques. He took his Irish roots and thew in the knowledge he gained on his travels to Senegal and India. Combining this with Japanese bassist Moto Fukushima’s strong background in jazz improv and drummer Ignacio Rivas Bixio’s latin grooves, the end result is simply irresistible.
House of Waters has shared the stage with Snarky Puppy, Tinariwen, Pandit Ravi Shankar, Victor Wooten, and many others.
“One of the most unique groups you will ever come across . . . I can only describe their sound as being a sound which one has longed to hear without truly realising it.”
